Autumn 2009
The economic output in Britain shrank by 0.4 percent between July and September, making this the longest recession since comparable rccords began in the 1950s. However, with fresh political and commercial efforts, renewed confidence in the banking sector and improved economies elsewhere, we can feel confident that recovery is on its way. In this issue, we bring our readers expert analysis and advice on recent developments in each sector of the transport industry, together with coverage of the Institute’s annual Awards Ceremony which took place this year as part of the Carbon Show at the ExCel in London.

Spring 2009
In this issue, the Institute welcomes the first legally binding carbon Budget in the world, with the announcement in the UK of a range of measures to encourage investment in energy efficiency, renewables and carbon capture. Also covered is the launch of the scrappage scheme intended to revitalise the struggling automotive sector. Spring 2009 provides an overview of the key issues concerning all sectors of the transport industry, with expert commentary from industry insiders.

Yearbook 2009
Figures coming out from the industry show that 2008 ended in the collapse of the new car market and that 2009 has begun with an even worse trading environment and sales figures lower than 1966 levels. Industry news has been across the board, gloomy, with the odd company struggling to sound upbeat despite difficult circumstances. The Yearbook 2009 analyses the struggles of the automotive sector as well as providing an overview of the other sectors of the transport industry.

Autumn Issue 2008
This issue contains a wealth of information on developments across all sectors of the transport industry in the autumn of 2008 - news pieces, reports and interviews. The edition also features comprehensive coverage of the June session of the Institute's bi-annual Awards Ceremony.
