Pall-Ex Recruits Logistics Pioneer to Growing Depot NetworkPall-Ex, the no.1 pallet network in the UK and Europe, has expanded its growing depot network with the recent appointment of freight forwarding and logistics pioneer, Davies Turner.
The latest addition to the award-winning Pall-Ex network will collect and deliver freight from an extensive region of responsibility encompassing the Bromley and Dartford postcodes in South East London.
Renowned for its service quality and reliability, the Pall-Ex network includes leading hauliers in the UK and Europe, totalling over 6,500 trucks and 5m sq ft of warehousing.
Five days a week, Davies Turner will collect and deliver freight onto a dedicated trunk vehicle and transport up to Pall-Ex's hub, located near the M1 in Ellistown, Leicestershire. At any one time over 250 lorries are loaded/unloaded at this hub transhipping more than 8500 pallets of freight every night. On the return leg back to its depot, Davies Turner will distribute freight collected from the Pall-Ex hub maximising trunk fill and fuel efficiency.

As a result of joining the Pall-Ex network, Davies Turner will be introducing a new specialised service for consignments on both standard and outsize pallets for customers in the UK who are exporting and importing within Europe.
Mr Stephenson explained, 'We will be covering all EU countries and will be quoting prices on a simple, easy to understand all-inclusive per pallet basis.
'For bookings prior to 12.00 noon we will be offering same day collection throughout mainland UK and a delivery time in Europe of 2 to 5 working days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays) depending on the destination. Joining Pall-Ex further strengthens our infrastructure in Britain and Ireland to offer this service in conjunction with our partners across Europe.'
One of the most important aspects of the Pall-Ex operation is that it is supported by its state-of-the-art information technology system, 'Pall-IT' offering both track and trace, and EPOD technology.
