Ontime is ITM's Roadside Rescue Company of the Year
There are more vehicles than ever before on the road, and 10,000 collisions reported every day. It is an essential for everyone – from corporate fleet managers to individual motorists – to have access to excellent roadside assistance. But the roadside recovery sector is a highly competitive one. To stand out from the crowd, providers must excel across the board, in terms of Range of Services; Growth and Achievement; IT; Specialist Services; Innovation; Quality of Management; Geographical Reach and Customer Services.
One of the core activities of the Institute of Transport Management is to recognise companies that do just that and it is for this reason that it has named Ontime its “Roadside Rescue Company of the Year 2011”.
Ontime Rescue and Recovery is one of four operating divisions within the company, the others being Specialist Transport Operations, Parking Solutions and Plant Movement.
Rescue and Recovery has always been a mainstay of the business, and Ontime has grown to become the largest independent vehicle recovery specialist in the UK. It was built up as a family company by David and Justin Brinklow, then given a major seal of corporate approval when it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the global Bidvest Group in July 2002.
A truly expert operation, Ontime has the team and the infrastructure to help motorists whenever and wherever they are. Offering services such as Home Start, 24 hour nationwide call centres and priority attention to anyone in a vulnerable situation, Ontime is a company that really cares about its customers. It is committed to getting motorists moving as soon as possible – usually within 60 minutes. It has also has adjusted its training programmes to become even more focussed on achieving the roadside repair. Now, four out of five Ontime assisted vehicles are fixed at roadside.
Its Roadside Assistance team provides assistance for motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses and even cranes and for team members, no job is too small. Ontime offers guaranteed recovery time – 24/7, 365 days a year – while vehicles are real-time tracked and its call centre will text you with accurate on-scene ETAs and live incident updates.
Ontime also offers superlative fleet breakdown assistance, a unique national and international service which coordinates all types of breakdown assistance and recovery UK-wide. Competitively priced – a must in these credit-crunched times – its services are used by fleet managers across the nation who need to get their team on the road with as little hassle as possible.
Committed to development, Ontime has recently made a significant investment in a fleet of 12 new LWB Vauxhall Vivaro’s – fully fitted mobile workshops, including extensive parts product range for that first fix at the roadside. Ontime has also invested in a major programme of IT and communications technology, including a brand new state-of-the-art control centre.
According to the ITM:
“In short, Ontime has got motorists covered. It operates over 240 specialised vehicles and 320 trained staff members, all of whom are wholly committed to getting motorists moving. A customer-focussed organisation that listens to its clients, it is also committed to high-level staff training and continual innovation. Ontime is a worthy winner of the Institute’s ‘Roadside Rescue Company of the Year’ award. Congratulations to all involved – this title is truly deserved.”
