Auto Windscreens wins 'Automotive Glass Company 2010' Award

Birmingham 3rd February 2010 – As much as 30 percent of a vehicle’s structural strength is provided by its windscreen, meaning that any damage to this component can pose a serious risk to the driver and passengers. Windscreen technology has advanced in leaps and bounds over the past decade, such that the glass is of a more complex construction than in previous years, being laminated with Poly Vinyl Butyral (PVB) to prevent shattering. On top of this, many new vehicles at the higher end of the market such as executive fleet cars now feature rain, solar and even fog sensors. As a consequence, windscreen manufacturers and repairers have been obliged to improve their offerings, so as to meet the high product and service standards of today. This must be done as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible, so as to keep vehicle and repair prices at an acceptable level for both corporate and private customers...
